The living room and bedroom are decorated with black furniture that expresses the wabi-sabi aesthetic, making it a calm space.
The colorful woodblock prints in the interior further catch the eye.
These are faithful reprints of historic woodblock images that were actually used in Kyoto, and the patterns come from Noh theater costumes that were popular in the Azuchi-Momoyama Period (1558-1600 CE).
Yellow has been used as an accent color in the bedroom, which was said to be the color that Toyotomi Hideyoshi incorporated into banners and other items.
