In contrast to narrow and long town houses ("eel beds"), the inn is a small two-story building;
however, because it stands alongside the Takase River, the space feels larger and fresh.
The house is built in a way that guests can enjoy the aspects of each season
by admiring flowers such as cherry blossoms and hydrangeas blooming over the river on the bench
extending to the river surface and soaking their feet in the water.
